The movie is adapted by true stories and real-life savant, Kim Peek. Kim Peek is the real person in the world and he has the special ability that he could memorize almost nine thousand books, broadcast the weather. Rain Man was the highest-grossing film of 1988. The film won four Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Actor in a leading role for Hoffman.

Charlie thought about he was the only son of his father, but he remembered rain man was his playfellow in his childhood. When he grew up, Charlie just considered rain man was a fictional person that he imagined. One day, Charlie received a message of his father’s death and immediately went back to his hometown and dealt with the estate. He finds his father leave the bulk of the $3 million estates to an unnamed person. Charlie felt unfair about his father’s decision, so he decided to attempt to gain custody of his brother in order to get control of the money. Charlie brought Raymond to Los Angeles, during the journey he found Raymond was rain man. Raymond was afraid of raining, so he spoke his name as rain man. Charlie found that Raymond had the extraordinary ability that could count hundreds of objects at once and own amazing memory. Actually, Raymond was an autistic patient, he couldn’t communicate with others easily and it’s not easy to build a relationship with people.

When I first time saw this movie, I was fifteen years old. At that time, I was really touched by the plot and the relationship between brothers. In the beginning, Charlie just wanted heritage. After spends with Raymond, he was touched by Raymond’s sincere and true heart. At that time, he found the affection between them is more important and precious than the money.
